HAVANA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Former Cuban long jumper Ivan Pedroso has become the first Cuban entering the Athletics Hall of Fame, local daily "Juventud Rebelde" reported on Thursday.

The decision was taken Wednesday and announced by the editor of the Yearbook of the Association of Track and Field Statisticians (ATFS) Peter Matthews.

Pedroso was 2000 Olympic champion and has won numerous world titles.
